Hello there!
If you're reading this, you're probably the first recipient of the Postcard Bookmark (well, technically the second, since I was the first, from an anonymous person who didn't even realize it), or some random surfer who chanced upon this page.
Coming to my sister's place in Virginia for Thanksgiving, I had been to a library in Chantilly, VA. I was looking for a copy of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I had seen the movie, and quite liked it, and had been meaning to read it.
Inside the book was a lone postcard of Denali in Alaska. It was completely blank. It made me wonder about the previous reader who had left this postcard in there, possibly using it as a bookmark. I ended up using it as my bookmark.

Perhaps it was the improbability of hitchhiking in the galaxy. A thought formed in my mind. A
social experiment, a combination of chainmails, geocaching, just good old pen-pal-ing. How many degrees of separation from the next reader, who perhaps shared similar interests with me (he/she was at least reading the same book)? I would leave the postcard with my name and address, for the next reader to send it back to me, with their comments. And if they could likewise place an empty postcard in there as a bookmark for the next reader, with their name and address, so the card could find its way back to them. Do it as many times, with as many books as you read!

Leave that special bookmark in there for the next reader.
Write back here with your comments and experiences. Place a link to this page on the postcard, so the reader can figure out what's going on, and what to do.
Hope to hear from you soon!
